Who is For the Love of Pets
For the Love of Pets (FLP) began in 2017 with the mission to strengthen communities by bringing people together through a shared love of pets. It completes this mission by creating free, family-friendly (both two- and four-legged) events that give back to local animal welfare organizations.
What does For the Love of Pets Do
Our flagship event is For the Love of Pets Benefit Festival, which is a dog-friendly community festival located in Central Oregon that benefits local animal shelters. The festival is host to live music, great food, an IPA tasting and adoptable pets galore.
The missions of each festival beneficiary vary, but each aim to be high-save or no-kill. The organizations complete this goal by fighting for every abused and/or abandoned animal and fostering communities where no companion animal will be killed because it is homeless. Continuing, each organization thoroughly believes in permanent and loving relationships between people and their pets and exude this by implementing programs focused around education, adoption and spay/neutering.
This benefit festival was created to support these organizations, but also to be utilized as a tool to better our overall community. As Central Oregon continues to grow, its residents continue to drift and this festival hopes to combat this through the love of pets and by instilling the idea that a neighbor doesn’t have to simply be someone who lives next door.
All “breeds” are welcome at FLP events and as we grow, so will our number of inclusive events.
