IT’S ALL ABOUT THE MEAT!
Domestic cats are built like their ancestors and we believe they should eat like them too. How do you know if your cat’s food is Biologically Appropriate? It’s simple. Answer our three meat questions.
HOW MUCH MEAT?
Entirely free of grains or gluten, ACANA Grasslands is loaded with 75% quality animal ingredients — more than twice as much as most pet specialty cat foods.
HOW MUCH FRESH MEAT?
Half of the meat, game, and fish in ACANA Grasslands are FRESH or RAW, supplying essential nutrients in their most nourishing form. Fresh means never frozen, so refrigeration is the only way we preserve our fresh meat, while our raw meat is flash-frozen at the source to lock in goodness. The other half is dried or oils to provide a strong and natural source of richly nourishing animal protein and fat.
HOW MANY MEATS?
ACANA Grasslands features quality animal ingredients in WholePrey ratios that include meat, organs, and cartilage or bone to supply nutrients naturally and completely.
- Grass-fed Lamb – meat, tripe, liver, and cartilage, fresh from Kentucky farms.
- Free-run Duck– fresh meat, organs, cartilage or bone, and liver from Kentucky farms.
- Cage-free eggs – fresh from Kentucky farms.
- Rainbow trout– fresh or raw from Idaho’s Snake River aquifers.
- Free-run quail – fresh from South Carolina farms.
LIMITED SUPPLEMENTS ADDED
In Mother Nature’s kitchen there are no synthetic supplements, and wildcats derive all of their nutritional needs by consuming whole prey animals. Muscle meat provides protein; liver, kidney, and tripe supply vitamins and minerals; while cartilage and bone deliver calcium and phosphorus.
ACANA WholePrey foods incorporate meat, organs, and cartilage or bone in ratios that mirror Mother Nature, delivering nutrients naturally. So you won’t find long lists of synthetic supplements — only choline, zinc and copper are added.
